Tumbledown Mountain is located near the village of Weld, ME. It’s not that high of an elevation (3068 ft / 935 m) but it’s a beautiful, well worth it hike.
One of its main attractions is the Tumbledown Pond, so it can get crowded especially on nice weekends, particularly the area immediately around the pond – although there are no designated campsites, it is common to see people setting tents in the area.
If you are looking for some solitude, peace and quiet, make sure you go up past the pond to West and North Peaks. Most people tend to stay around the pond area.
Happy trails!
